Cr Thompson is a local mechanic and is married with three children and four grandchildren. His favourite pastimes are horseracing, racehorses and fishing. He is involved with the Texas Terriers Rugby League Football Club, Texas Jockey Club, Texas Services Club and the Texas Sporting Association.
Cr Thompson was elected to Council in 2004. His goals as a Councillor is to improve the communication link between Council and the community. To effectively continue to improve and promote the Shire's great assets and facilities.
