Pest Management Plan

Inglewood Shire

Inglewood Shire is located approximately 250km south-west of Brisbane and adjoins the New South Wales border, Waggamba, Warwick, Millmerran and Stanthorpe Shires.

Inglewood Shire has two urban areas with Inglewood in the centre and Texas on the New South Wales border. Inglewood is on a major highway linking Brisbane with central New South Wales, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Purpose of Plan

The purpose of the Pest Management Plan is to bring together all sectors of local communities in a concerted effort to tackle the critical issue of pests. By increasing awareness, sharing responsibility, and coordinating action, the plan will help to:

  • reduce the economic, environmental, and social impact of pests;
  • reduce the establishment and spread of pests; and
  • improve the protection of environmentally significant areas.
