PEST MANAGEMENT IN INGLEWOOD SHIRE 
Inglewood Shire Council is currently:-
- Coordinating a Baiting Program twice a year in May and September. This is in line with other baiting programs from Chinchilla to Tara to Inglewood.
- We have 9 baiting stations covering 5,862 sq/km.
- Council supply wild dog traps to landholders in problem areas in the Shire.
- Council supply some free meat for the baiting program.
- Wild Dog bounty is $100 and
- Council have a fully qualified 1080 operator.
In Queensland wild dogs are declared animals and are the responsibility of land owners to reduce.
Breeding activity is in April and May, and pups and juveniles are active in August and September. These are the times that baiting are carried out in our Shire to reduce numbers.
For baiting to be more effective, it is essential that baiting programs be coordinated among adjoining properties. Baiting individual properties will only result in short term reduction in numbers.
